Nikolay Mikhailovich Karamzin (Russian: Никола́й Миха́йлович Карамзи́н; 12 December [O.S. 1 December] 1766 – 3 June [O.S. 22 May] 1826) was a Russian historian, romantic writer, poet, and critic. He is important because of his History of the Russian State. This was a series of 12 volumes. It was a history of Russia.
