God Hand (ゴッドハンド, Goddo Hando) is a beat 'em up video game. It was published by Capcom and was developed by Clover Studio.[1]

It was released on September 14, 2006 in Japan, October 10, 2006 in North America, February 16, 2007 in Europe, and on February 21, 2007 in Australia. The game was released for the PlayStation 2.[2][3][4] The game would later be released for download as a PS2 Classic on the PlayStation 3.[5]

The game is about a martial artist named Gene who has the "God Hand", a godly power within his arms. He uses this power to defeat demons and stop the Four Devas from bringing a Demon King named Angra back to life and destroying the world.[6]

Reception

[change | change source]

The game recieved mixed and average reviews by game critics. Critics said that they liked the combat, large amount of moves, and humor. However, critics also felt that the gameplay was repetitive and level design was not very creative.[7][8][9]

IGN would write a notorious negative review of the game, giving it a 3/10 and saying that it was a "boring, annoying and frustrating game."[10] They would later change their minds and write an article in 2019, saying that the game was "amazing".[11]
