Dennis William Etchison (March 30, 1943 – May 28, 2019) was an American writer and editor. He was known for his fantasy and horror novels. He wrote novels based on the Halloween franchise. His best known work was The Museum of Horrors which won him the World Fantasy Award in 2002. He wrote the screenplay for Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers.

Etchison died on May 28, 2019 at the age of 78.[1]
