Monsters. Monsters everywhere.

Basically our reaction to finishing every book ever.

“I am dead, but it’s not so bad.”
“I am extremely picky when it comes to writing manuals or anything that masquerades as such. This snobbery is likely the result of having read On Writing before getting my hands on any other books in the same vein.”
“Sarah Andersen knows what it is to be a bookworm. Here are 3 times she nailed it in her webcomic.”
“I make resolutions for multiple aspects of my life including health and fitness, relationships, travel, and of course reading. One of the benefits of book related resolutions is that they can help with other resolutions.”
Jacquelynne, Marketing Assistant: This weekend I’m reading To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, by Jenny Han. I know, I know, I am WAY behind on this series. I am just getting back into contemporary YA novels and I thought, why not start with a classic? (And just in time for Always and Forever, Lara Jean, out this year!)
Holley, Publicity Assistant: I have been a Zoe Whittall kick
lately. After reading Holding Still for as Long as Possible, I dove into The
Best Kind of People. Both novels are very different but equally compelling.
Over the holidays I began Bottle Rocket Hearts. It’s a coming of age
story set in Montreal in the 90’s. Whittall has such a talent for character
development that, no matter what is going on, I need to read more about the
interesting individuals she has created.
Jordyn, Sales Operations Assistant: I am currently reading the
second edition of Y: The Last Man, which is a graphic novel by Brian K.
Vaughan. It’s incredibly well done, beautifully drawn, and the plot is super
intriguing. The premise alone – looking at a world where all men/male animals have
been wiped out – is mind boggling, and offers an interesting view of gender
dynamics. I highly recommend checking out this series!
“Filling a bookshelf with all your own stuff–even better, filling it exclusively with all your own books–is a curiously personal act of public declaration.”
Breanna, Marketing Assistant: This Friday I can be found reading The Interrogation by J.M.G. Le Clézio. Translated from Le Procès-Verbal, The Interrogation is a classic 1960s novel in the vein of The Stranger, in which the central protagonist reads as a modern-day hipster figure facing the emptiness of life at the bottom of a coffee cup. As I read The Interrogation on my morning commute, I’m forced to contemplate existence, routine … and a Parisian getaway.
Jacquelynne, Marketing Assistant: This weekend I’m reading Owl
and the Electric Samurai by Kristi Charish. Who doesn’t want a book that’s
basically Indiana Jones meets World of Warcraft? And better yet, we’re only 5
months away from fans of Kristi Charish finally getting their hands on it! I think this Owl novel is my favourite one so far.
Holley, Publicity Assistant: A Spool of Blue Thread is a
lovely holiday read! Ann Tyler brings you into a family’s Baltimore home as a
quiet family drama unfolds. It is a beautiful novel that is so realistic in
many ways.
Alexandra, Marketing Assistant: I usually lean towards fiction, but Rebecca Traister’s All the Single Ladies has been on my TBR list for a while. All the Single Ladies traces the history of unmarried women who have helped to shape (and reshape) America. I’ve barely started, but I can’t wait to see this one through!
Nothing Less is the second book of a new series by Anna Todd, featuring After worldwide fan-favorite Landon Gibson as he leaves Washington to navigate love and life in New York City.
At the end of the After Ever Happy, Landon got married—but readers everywhere have been wondering who will get to call the nicest boy in the After series their forever love? Read it and find out!
