We’re back with our Meet-the-Engineers sessions : welcoming participants from Singapore Polytechnic yesterday 🙌  Ronald Stevanus, our Director of Software Engineering, kicked things off by sharing more about our Engineering team and the tech hubs at ShopBack, as well as giving insights on recent key projects aimed to take our capabilities to the next level. In the breakout sessions, a bunch of our engineers — from interns to Engineering Managers — joined in to give participants a better understanding of our Engineering culture, while addressing their questions about the industry, potential career paths, and more. It was great to see the participants thoroughly enjoying the session, including exploring different parts of the ShopBack CAMPUS office!  It's always a pleasure to be able to share more about our team, and how we're building something great together.

Sneaking in a treat for durian lovers this season — ShopBack Malaysia has partnered with popular durian store Rizky Durian to offer our members a rewarding way to feast on the king of fruits 🙌 With ShopBack Pay, members can now earn Cashback offline, stack rewards from their preferred payment methods, and offset payments at participating merchants using their available Cashback. Great to hear our General Manager of ShopBack Malaysia, Vincent Wong, share insights on expanding into Malaysia at Tech in Asia's Conference in Kuala Lumpur last week. Alongside other industry leaders, the panel explored exciting opportunities and strategic considerations for companies in Malaysia aiming for regional and global success. It was inspiring to hear Vincent and others discuss how Malaysia could be the perfect place to kickstart one's ambition to expand into Southeast Asia. Since its launch in 2015, ShopBack Malaysia has grown to become a key hub for ShopBack, providing significant regional support across various functions — from sales and marketing, to customer service and operations, as well as corporate services. Proud of the strides we’ve made and excited for what’s ahead!

Amidst the hustle and bustle of work, ShopBackers still make sure we carve out time for growth and development. Recently, our Vietnam team partnered with EIY Public Speaking and Professional Development to conduct a communication training program for interested ShopBackers. Delivered by EIY's Founder and CEO Lan Anh Nguyen, the fun and practical program provided every ShopBacker with the opportunity to practise their public speaking skills and engage in real-life scenarios relevant to ShopBack — enhancing their workplace communication skills and effectiveness. We recently hosted participants from the NUS Enterprise Academy Summer Programme in Entrepreneurship 2024 at ShopBack CAMPUS in Singapore 🙌 Our Co-founder Joel Leong shared stories and insights from our 10-year journey in an exciting fireside session — diving into the founding days, the importance of thinking outside the box, and key lessons he's learned along the way. With two of our Co-founders and many other ShopBackers as alumni of NUS Enterprise's NUS Overseas College (NOC) Programme, it's always great to give back to the community by helping build the next generation of aspiring entrepreneurs. We can't wait to see what brilliant ideas these bright minds will come up with in the (near) future.

Meet Alice Jung, our Campaign Manager based in Korea! Alice focuses on driving and optimising onsite campaigns across our app and web platforms, ensuring they engage users and drive acquisition and retention. Having grown up in Australia, New Zealand, and America, Alice enjoys staying in touch with friends and family from around the world. She seizes any opportunity to visit them, relishing the chance to take a break from the bustling Korean city life. Outside of work, she loves spending time walking her dog, finding good coffee, and travelling (including still being a tourist in Korea 😂). Alice lives by the philosophy, "You only know what you know." Alice realised the world was much bigger than she'd imagined when she first moved to another country — and since then, she has continuously challenged herself to get out of her comfort zone, learn, and experience new things. #VoicesofShopBack
