Earlier this year, the ShopBack Engineering team completed the Multi-Tenancy project — their most complex initiative to date. In this week's blog post, understand more about the journey from Joyce Foo, our Senior Software Engineer based in Singapore. "Personally, I was pushed out of my comfort zone frequently as I had to work with many new technologies such as Aurora PostgreSQL, canary deployments, and more. I also had opportunities to lead the solutioning for large-scale problems that I did not (and would not) usually encounter on a day-to-day basis." Meet Alessio Romeni — or as many fondly know him, Ale. Part of ShopBack's management team, Ale had been leading our Regional Commercial team and overseeing several of our markets for the past few years. He presently manages the Regional Marketing and Business Planning teams, focusing on growing our active user base 🛍 Quoting Ale, he's "an outdoor person who is very competitive and struggles to stay still." If you're ever looking for him, you'll have the best luck finding him at any competition, hiking or climbing expedition, or interesting place of travel. Ale aims to do something memorable at least once a year, kicking off by scaling Kilimanjaro in 2023 (spot how he "brought" ShopBack⚡️ with him) and scheduling some tough bike and swim races this year. Two lines that guide Ale in his day-to-day life are "You can't know your limits until you test them" and "The way to the top (of the mountain) is never a straight line." Personally, we think these are super apt for Ale! #VoicesofShopBack

As part of a recent team bonding activity, ShopBackers in Vietnam chose to spend their day connecting with elderly residents at a nursing home in Binh Thanh district. Several of our ShopBackers' children also joined, adding an extra layer of warmth and joy to the visit! Despite the heavy rain, it was a heartwarming afternoon filled with conversations, laughter, and shared stories. Our team cherished the opportunity to create memorable moments with the residents, with several of them now keen to visit more frequently after this experience. Grateful for these moments that not only bring us closer as a team, but also allow us to make an impact in our community.
