A huge thank you to our Golf Committee Chairman, Dinesh Subramaniam, for leading the charge with passion and dedication! We’re grateful for your leadership and the commitment of everyone involved. Let’s SHINE ON!
What business does a non-golfer have chairing a golf committee? Sacrilege, I hear you say! But not for SHINE Children and Youth Services , which has given me this opportunity to lead this important cause. Our charity golf event is one of our key fundraising events, and as Chair of the Fundraising Committee, I’ve had the pleasure of working with SHINE’s Executive Director Lee Seng Meng , the Community Partnership team (Carol Muck and Farah Liyana) and volunteers including SHINE Chairman Chee-Foong Wan, past Chairman Seng Bin Ang and others to put together a program that has raised over $250,000 in aid of children and youth, and their families. Special thanks to all our generous donors and sponsors for helping us achieve our goals, and helping our beneficiaries achieve their dreams. You’ve got a special place in our hearts! ♥️ Tee off on Friday, 23 August at Laguna Country Club. SHINE ON! #socialwork #volunteer #charitygolf #childrenandyouth #SHINEON

A big thank you to the CCEP students for their incredible 18-week journey with SHINE Children and Youth Services, led by Devi Eka!
Fresh Perspectives on youth volunteerism CCEP students have been on an incredible 18-week journey with SHINE Children and Youth Services, led by Devi Eka, tackling a challenge focused on boosting youth volunteerism. They shared some innovative ideas, including: - Peer Support: Enhancing traditional volunteer management with on-site group support. - Leadership Opportunities: Offering new micro roles for youth to explore and demonstrate leadership skills before being formally appointed as leaders. - Reflective Recognition: Incorporating reflection into the recognition process. - Charlie Invasion: Initiating a fun & exciting mascot campaign to encourage volunteerism. The students conducted literature reviews, engaged in primary research, volunteered across various Shine initiatives, and had insightful conversations with volunteer managers. It was a delight watching them share their insights and ideas with so much excitement and pride. We’re excited for the Shine team to explore these meaningful insights and new ideas. If you're seeking fresh, research-backed approaches, reach out to us! Thanks to Youth Corps Singapore for sharing on youth volunteerism, which has added value to the students’ insights and proposals. ☺️ #VolunteerManagement #YouthLeadership #InnovativeSolutions #CommunityEngagement #ResearchDriven

Last Saturday (13 July), the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) invited youths to be part of their inaugural Youth Summit to learn more about how they can raise awareness about cancer and its preventive measures. SHINE was invited to be a key partner in the summit, where we anchored the segment on "Youth Conversations" to inspire youths to become advocates for cancer awareness. Through this workshop, we equipped the youths with tools and knowledge not only to find creative ways in raising cancer awareness but also normalising conversations surrounding cancer. Our partnership with the Singapore Cancer Society underscores our commitment to community engagement and health advocacy, through a meaningful event that promotes cancer prevention and awareness. As we continue to work with youths, we hope to share our knowledge and resources to empower the next generation in driving impactful changes within their communities. #SHINEOn #SCSNextGenRising #SCS
