Today, Global FinTech Institute welcomed a group of Master’s in Artificial Intelligence and Decision Sciences students from Jio Institute, India, who are in Singapore for an immersion programme with Nanyang Business School with Dr Ernie Teo, PhD, CFtP. Our Co-Chairman, Chia Hock Lai 谢福来, CFtP, ACLP, shared valuable insights into the Fintech landscape and emerging trends across Singapore and the APAC region. We were also privileged to have our #CFtP holders, Haisheng Zhang from Ample FinTech and Jag Foo, CFtP, CPP, PSP, PCI from Safeheron, present their innovative products, adding practical insights into the ongoing evolution of the Fintech sector. The students demonstrated high levels of engagement and enthusiasm, contributing to a lively and interactive session. LOH, Co-Chairman of the Global FinTech Institute, has been conferred the title of Singapore Distinguished Professor by Murdoch University, marking the first time a Singaporean has received this prestigious honor in the university's 50-year history. Professor Loh's long-standing association with Murdoch University began in 1998 as a Visiting Scientist in Plant Virology & Agronomy at the Western Australian State Agricultural & Biotechnology Centre. The event highlighted the latest innovations in fintech and smart city development, with GFI as a supporting partner. 📌 Fireside Chat: Universal Trusted Credentials (UTC) - The Future of Global Finance Chia Hock Lai 谢福来, CFtP, ACLP, Co-Chairman of GFI, and Francesca Puricelli from the UNDP highlighted the transformative impact of Universal Trusted Credentials (UTC) on global finance. They discussed how UTC provides a global framework for evaluating creditworthiness, particularly for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), addressing significant financial inclusion challenges. Startup Investment Credentials (SIC), built on the UTC framework, are designed to assess the creditworthiness of startups, facilitating their access to investment. Additionally, Chia Hock Lai introduced GFI’s FLEX International initiative, which aligns with UTC and SIC by connecting fintech startups with investors, thereby fostering collaboration and integrating innovative solutions into the fintech ecosystem. 📌 Spotlight on CFtP Professionals – a panel on Interoperability between global smart cities Our Chartered FinTech Professional (CFtP) holders, Ye Ye, Chief Innovation Officer of Trust Innovation Group (TIG) and Haisheng Zhang, Chief Product Officer of Ample FinTech, together with GFI’s academic council member and Co-Founder of WAWEB3, Dr Andrzej Gwizdalski, and Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Titan Network, Konstantin Tkachuk, actively contributed to the conversation, fostering greater collaboration and knowledge-sharing among fintech professionals.
