At Coda, being a responsible corporate citizen is about engaging with, understanding and giving back to the diverse communities within which we operate. Singapore is known to the world as many things - APAC’s leading financial hub, a hypermodern epicenter of luxe living, one of the safest cities in the world and amongst the best places for expats to live. But hidden behind the glamour is the reality that many are grappling with the escalating cost of living, with some struggling to put enough food on the table for their families. The common misperception that this was limited to Singapore’s ‘invisible community’ of migrant workers was dispelled amongst Codans last week as we worked alongside and learned from the team at Krsna's Free Meals. Krsna's Free Meals (previously Krishna's Kitchen) is a soup kitchen in Singapore’s Little India, run by like-minded volunteers who are compassionate and determined to serve those in need. They serve around 2000 meals a day and are open 365 days a year. Last week, Codans joined their team to help prepare and serve the meals as well as clean the premises. Throughout the day, we were challenged to think about societal inequalities - including our related blindspots and biases - and crucially, how we can all play a role in addressing them. Thank you to all participating Codans, and most of all to the team at Krsna’s Free Meals, for their dedication to supporting communities in need across Singapore.

New research from Niko Partners predicts the combined #Asia & #MENA games market to reach nearly $100 billion over the next five years. This growth is being driven by localization, increase in participation by female gamers, government support for esports, growth of out-of-app monetization of mobile games, and rising spending power. The vast majority of Asia and MENA gamers play on mobile devices, and they account for over half of global player spending on mobile and PC, spending about $58 billion on the platform. By 2028, Niko Partners expects the number of gamers in these two regions to reach 1.99 billion in 2028. India accounts for 72% of this projected growth in gamers, and the country is likely to add 277 million more gamers, surpassing China’s current player count.
