  • The International Energy Agency has just published its annual renewables report, providing forecasts for the deployment of renewable energy technologies in electricity, transport and heat to 2030, while also exploring key challenges facing the industry and identifying barriers that are preventing faster growth. Check out the report via the link, but here are some highlights: • Global renewable capacity is expected to grow by 2.7 times by 2030, surpassing countries’ current ambitions by nearly 25% • Solar will account for 80% of global renewables growth by the end of this decade, thanks to declining costs, shorter permitting timelines and increased social acceptance • The E.U. and U.S. are both forecast to double renewable capacity growth between 2024 and 2030, while India is fastest-growing among large economies • Renewables are expected to account for almost half of global electricity generation by 2030, with the share of wind and solar PV doubling to 30% • Renewable electricity use in the transport, industry and buildings sectors accounts for more than three-quarters of the overall rise in forecasted global renewable energy demand

  • Congratulations to the U.K. for being the first G7 nation to stop burning coal! This is a terrific deep dive into the country's history of coal-burning, and gradual shift to other fuels. An important part of the process has been government will, driven by public sentiment. Also, obviously, the development of economically viable alternatives, most notably renewable energy. Renewable energy generation doubled in the five years following the implementation of the 2013 Energy Act, from around 50TWh in 2013 to 110TWh in 2018. Renewables are on track to generate more than 150TWh in 2024. We're very proud that AMPYR Distributed Energy and AMPYR Solar Europe are contributing to change, and we're excited about the prospects for the continued rapid adoption of renewables across the country. #renewableenergy #solarenergy #netzero

  • Here's an excellent overview of the fast-growing data centre business. One of the most important factors in data centre design and construction is energy consumption. Data centres require energy, ideally sourced predominantly from renewable sources. AGP Data Centres (AGPDC) is a sustainability-focused, innovation-led data centre investor and developer specialising in hyperscale BTS (build-to-suit)/full-stack projects in the Asia-Pacific region. AGPDC provides the complete range of data centre development services, including site selection, land acquisition, planning and early-stage execution of infrastructure and utilities, as well as comprehensive construction management and delivery. AGPDC's deep experience in real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy and data centre development – and its fundamental commitment to sustainability – informs its project designs, which are tailored to clients’ specific requirements, and support their operational, financial, and sustainability goals. #datacenters #renewableenergy #asiapacific

We're delighted to announce our strategic partnership with Dowling Energy! Together, we'll bring forward an initial 20MW of behind the meter solar projects, including a number of ground-mounted solar arrays located in close proximity to customer demand. Our CCO, Miles Thomas says, "While many of the initiatives we have funded to date have been centred on rooftop solar and battery storage technology, ground-mounted solar schemes with private wire will also play a critical role in helping larger businesses to take advantage of all the benefits of distributed energy, with no upfront costs, going forward." “Our ambition is to simplify net zero for business customers through innovative and sustainable funding solutions that de-risk the process and give them early access to the financial, environmental and energy security benefits that distributed energy will bring in a fast changing and progressive energy landscape. Dowling Energy shares our commitment to removing the barriers and making it easier to drive adoption of renewables." #ampyrdistributedenergy #ade #distributedenergy #solar #solarenergy #renewableenergy #netzero https://lnkd.in/eiWcd7CN

  • AGP Industrial Logistics Parks has been awarded Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Precertification for a Platinum rating for our Nelamangala-Two logistics and warehouse project in Bangalore, India. The project comprises six warehouses totalling 186,376 square metres of space on a 50-hectare site around one kilometre from NH-48, an important freight corridor connecting Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. The site is also close to the important Bangalore-area industrial hubs of Nelamangala and Dabaspete. In order to secure Precertification for a Platinum rating for the Nelamangala-Two project, we provided comprehensive design and technical data covering greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation and land stewardship (management of erosion and sedimentation, water treatment, preservation of green cover, and utilisation of renewable energy). While IGBC pre-certification does not guarantee final certification at the same level, it demonstrates at an early stage a project developer's commitment to green building practices. We're proud to have been awarded Precertification for a Platinum rating for our Nelamangala-Two project! #india #logistics #warehousing #sustainability #greenbuilding

  • Less than 100 days remain before the U.S. presidential election, and to paraphrase Leon Trotsky's famous aphorism about war (which he probably never said anyway), "You may not be interested in U.S. politics, but U.S. politics are interested in you." The 5th November election is enormously consequential for everyone on earth from the environmental perspective. Here's Mattias Goldmann on the likely differences in climate and energy policy between a Harris and a Trump presidency. #environment #sustainability #climatechange
