    “I moved from Geneva to Budapest for a fresh start. At first, I felt quite lost, not knowing the language or anyone in the city. Thankfully, Agoda provided me with temporary housing, so I had some time and space to adapt and get comfortable. During those first few days, I swung by a local comic convention and met tons of new friends who helped me settle in quickly. In the Customer Experience team, I assist French-speaking customers with their requests, from pre-stays to post-stays. I love being the vital link between guests and hotels, especially when they're facing language barriers abroad. It's incredibly rewarding to help people communicate and make the most of their trips. The international culture at Agoda is another highlight; it’s a welcoming space where everyone is respected no matter what. Budapest is a perfect city for young people – you’ll never be bored here! I love how walkable it is, and whether you’re exploring on foot or using public transport, there's always something to do. My advice for new arrivals?     We just wrapped up the 5th Agoda Tech Camp Day in Chiang Mai – our first outside of Bangkok! Despite the extreme weather conditions, we brought together over 40 Tech Team members and 320 students from 5 universities across Northern Thailand. This was also our first bilingual event in English and Thai. We're very proud to keep growing this initiative and reaching more students with the power of tech education.     “Given that Agoda handles millions of searches and bookings daily, even minor incidents can have a significant impact on users. We use a ticketing system that categorizes incidents based on priority. Each of our critical services has its own set of alerts, which helps us understand what needs to be tackled first. We also have our own Network Operations Center (NOC) performance dashboard that we use to check our real-time operation tasks to help maintain our performance. This allows us to quickly identify which deployments or changes might have caused the problem and focus on resolving it. One thing that sets Agoda apart is the collaboration between teams. As a NOC engineer, I work closely with engineers and product teams to resolve incidents and prevent future issues. For example, we worked with the Customer Experience team to communicate and collect sample customer issues to help faster investigation on the tech side. That collaboration helped the tech team investigate and resolve the issue faster.     "Agoda has a culture that respects working parents, so I don't feel guilty about needing sick leave or asking for help when something urgent arises. I'm there to support my colleagues when they have family emergencies, and they support me in turn. Our hybrid model has done wonders for my stress and work-life balance. My son goes to bed at seven. When I work from home, I can log off and be with him immediately instead of wasting time on my commute or getting home when he's already asleep. That quality time is precious, especially when your child is very young."
