Empowering Seniors and Clients, Transforming the Care Community

About us

We began in 1992 as the Care Liaison Services (CLS) under Ministry of Health (MOH) to coordinate and facilitate the placement of elderly sick to nursing homes and chronic sick units. In 2001, CLS became the Integrated Care Services (ICS) and expanded to take on a greater role in discharge planning and facilitate the transition of patients from hospitals to the community. ICS was then renamed the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) in 2008, and a year later, AIC was established as an independent corporate entity under MOH Holdings, and assumed the role of National Care Integrator. In 2018, AIC was designated the single agency to coordinate the delivery of aged care services, and to enhance service development and capability-building across both the health and social domains. The Pioneer Generation Office was renamed the Silver Generation Office and joined AIC that same year. Today, AIC continues in what we are tasked and seeks to create a vibrant care community enabling our people to live well and age gracefully. We work closely with Community Care partners in supporting them in service development and manpower-capability building to raise the quality of care and bringing care support closer to those in need. OUR VISION: A Vibrant Care Community Enabling our People to Live Well and Age Gracefully OUR MISSION: Empowering Seniors and Clients, Transforming the Care Community

Updates

  • The Agency for Integrated Care is proud to have partners who walk with us on our journey to help seniors age well in the community. In August, we had a Partners Appreciation Lunch with nine partners* that collaborated with us on “Bridging Generations”, a comprehensive resource designed to support both preschool and Community Care organisations in developing meaningful intergenerational programmes.  The "Bridging Generations" toolkit is one of the many resources under the AIC Wellness Programme, which aims to promote active ageing and enhance the quality of life for seniors. The programme offers a wide range of activities and resources and is designed to empower seniors to lead fulfilling lives and stay connected to their communities. This initiative is part of AIC's broader commitment to enhancing the wellbeing and quality of life for seniors across our communities. Their mission? To curate and elevate AAC services, making them vibrant hubs for senior engagement. ✨ Through collaborations with government agencies, she spearheads the expansion of AAC programmes. “Such partnerships will help to increase the types and number of AAPs offered to AACs so that they have a variety of programmes that they can offer to the different profiles of seniors at their centres, including targeted physical and cognitive programmes for frail seniors.” Want to make a difference to seniors in your community too? • One of our missions at the Agency for Integrated Care is to help seniors age well in place, and that includes encouraging them to continue to lead active lifestyles even after retirement. Our Chairman, Dr Gerard Ee, is testament to living that active life, even at 74. In his recent op-ed piece for The Straits Times, Dr Ee emphasises the importance of adapting and finding new ways to contribute meaningfully after retirement. He wrote: “Like a good reliable vehicle, I will continue to chug along until the engine dies out… Instead of tackling off-road challenges, I will choose a gentler route and travel at slower speeds. But I will keep going.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/g8eggwSi

  • This Nurses’ Day, we celebrate the extraordinary dedication and vibrant spirit of nurses. Our nurses at AIC may no longer work on the wards, but they have translated their unwavering commitment to caring for seniors into their work at AIC. Besides having the heart of care, they also have some impressive moves. Watch them (along with AIC's CEO Dinesh Vasu Dash!) showcase their joy through an impressive TikTok dance. Happy Nurses’ Day to all the amazing nurses in Singapore!

  • Yesterday, we held an appreciation event for nurses at the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) ahead of Nurses’ Day on 1st August! Yes, there are nurses among our staff at AIC! These nurses used to work in acute or community setting, before making the switch to AIC to explore a different, but familiar career. Their nursing knowledge serves them well whether they are helping clients, or piloting programmes for the sector. This early celebration honours their unwavering dedication and compassion in helping seniors age well. We also celebrated Marine Chioh’s win for Nurses’ Merit Award! Thank you to all nurses, not only at AIC, but also across Singapore, for your contributions to the community.
