Exciting news for preterms in Czech Republic. Great work Jiri Dusek MD. and team!
I want to introduce a project that will help to improve the nutritional status of 400 babies born under 32 weeks of gestational age; the aim is to make this tool available to all newborns in the Czech Republic who need it. Thanks to the joint efforts of colleagues from UZIS, the EU has obtained funding for the project. A sophisticated nutritional program, analysis of breast milk macronutrients, and target fortification will be used. A protocol-driven nutrition system will be created with the acquisition of nutrition data and its automatic assessment using AI tools. Automatic assessment at a central level. The potential for the future is enormous. We are already developing analytical methods that will be used to routinely investigate metabolic morphology from a minimal number of samples and the relationship of nutrition to other monitored parameters ... We could not have made such progress without the enthusiasm of colleagues and other collaborators. We thank all those involved in further improving care and research.
