🌍 Join us in Celebrating Amazon Frontlines' Historic Achievement 🌿 We are thrilled to announce that our partner, Amazon Frontlines, has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Conrad N. Hilton Foundation Humanitarian Prize, often referred to as the "Nobel Prize for NGOs." This recognition highlights the critical role that Indigenous communities play in environmental conservation and marks a mission-critical moment for their work and the Amazon rainforest. Amazon Frontlines is the first organization to champion a scalable, proven model of Indigenous-led conservation and is the first solely South American organization to receive this honor. Their work, from grassroots organizing and legal defense to utilizing cutting-edge technology like GPS mapping and drones, has permanently protected vast areas of the rainforest and established significant legal precedents for Indigenous rights. This award is not just a win for Amazon Frontlines; it's a victory for the planet. It acknowledges the indispensable role of the Amazon and its custodians in securing a sustainable future for all. Join us in congratulating Amazon Frontlines for their outstanding contribution to humanitarian efforts and for being a source of inspiration and action in the face of environmental challenges. 🌍💡Corporate net-zero strategies should be rooted in the highest integrity and aligned with global standards. Our expert in carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and climate policy, Robert Höglund, draws from a recent paper by Kenneth Möllersten et al. on carbon credits and net-zero targets. He highlights why focusing on removals is the most credible path to achieving true net zero. Discover why removals-only requirements are the only approach that fully aligns with the global definition of net zero!
