At Illuminum, we assessed the quality of climate databases of Boverket, Trafikverket, and SYKE. 𝟭) None of these climate databases provide the description about the basic statistical number type used to communicate the emission factor 📊. 𝟮) None of these reason about confidence intervals correctly, or at all 📏. 𝟯) There are emission factors which lack references in Trafikverket’s Klimatkalkyl to the original source 📑. 💡 With such constants in use, how can anyone claim what is carbon footprint of a construction project? 💡 How relevant is it to prepare public tenders with carbon performance in tender stage with such generic emissions factors to be used for calculations? Here are the main highlights: 🔹 𝟮𝟬% Restoration by 2030: Europe is committed to restoring 20% of the EU's land and sea areas. 🔹 𝟯𝟬% Habitats Improvement by 2030: The goal is to revive 30% of habitats in poor condition by 2030, increasing to 60% by 2040 and 90% by 2050. 🔹 Agriculture and Ecosystems: Boosting biodiversity in agricultural areas, restoring peatlands, planting 𝟯 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀, and bringing 𝟮𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗸𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 back to their natural flow. By conducting thorough carbon calculations and model checks of their real estate in Stockholm, we helped Axfast identify and rectify discrepancies in their models, ensuring precise carbon footprint evaluations of their buildings. Through this approach, Axfast can now make more informed decisions to enhance their sustainability efforts.
