The local wine, Enfer d'Arvier, haed its awn DOC designation afore bein subsumit intae the Valle d'Aosta DOC. It is a blend made primarily frae the Petit Rouge grape wi lesser amoonts o Dolcetto, Gamay, Neyret, Pinot noir, an/or Vien de Nus.[1]

Arvier wis the birthplace o Maurice Garin, the winner o the oreeginal Tour de France in 1903. His faimily migratit tae Northren Fraunce in 1885.
