Sabrina Hempel has been the leader of the Working Group Barn Climate and Emission Modelling in the Department of Engineering for Livestock Management at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) in Potsdam, Germany, since 2020. She holds a diploma in theoretical physics from the University of Potsdam, Germany, for her work on the structural analysis of discrete wind fields. She did her dissertation on time series analysis of gene expression to understand gene regulatory networks at the Humboldt University Berlin, Germany. Her recent research focuses on characterizing and modelling environmentally, climatologically and health-relevant emissions and the related microclimatic conditions in naturally ventilated livestock housing.
