Marília Barandas received the M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Faculdadede Ciências e Tecnologia of NOVA University of Lisbon (FCT NOVA) in 2013. Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate in Biomedical Engineering Doctoral Program from FCT NOVA and works at Fraunhofer Center for Assistive Information and Communication Solutions (AICOS) as Scientistsince 2015. Prior to joining AICOS, she was an assistant lecturer at the Electrical and Computer Engineering department of FCT NOVA and a research engineer at the Computational Intelligence Research Group from the Centre of Technology and Systems. Her main research interests include knowledge extraction, probability theory, machine learning, and explainable artificial intelligence.
