Dr. Wisit Cheungpasitporn

Wisit Cheungpasitporn, M.D., is a nephrologist in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. He specializes in treating acute kidney failure and kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, dialysis, hypertension, kidney stones, and electrolyte abnormalities. He is certified in both internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree with First Class Honors from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. He then completed an internal medicine residency training at Bassett Medical Center in New York. Afterward, he came to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and completed nephrology fellowship training. He also completed a postdoctoral degree in the clinical and translational science (CCaTS) program in 2015, which provided him with hands-on research experience and equipped him with statistical analysis skills, especially in epidemiology and clinical research. In addition, he completed kidney transplant fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. His research has also been internationally recognized. His excellence is evidenced by the fact that he has over 300 publications including peer-reviewed original articles, editorials, and reviews, which have been cumulatively cited more than 3000 times.
