Michael Schwake is an attending neurosurgeon at the University Hospital in Münster, Germany. After residency and fellowships in Neuro-Oncology and complex spine surgery, he became head of the spine section at his department. In addition to his clinical practice, he performs research projects, both clinical and experimental, and published several scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. His main research fields are pediatric neuro-oncology, gliomas, CNS traumatology and spine, especialy intra-dural tumors. Since 2018, he leads the spine team at the neurosugery department. In exception to surgeries for adolescent scoliosis, his team performs surgeries on nearly all other pathologies of the spine. Michael and his team are highly motivated to further improve their operative methods and spine research, and for further establishing national and international scientific collaborations.
