Abdul's primary research addresses the molecular and structural elements of MET receptor tyrosine kinases and applies this foundational knowledge to mechanistically examine the role(s) of MET in health and disease. Before that, he did his first post-doctoral training at the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute and the Department of chemical engineering at the University of Calgary. He completed his Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Calgary in 2017 under Dr. Justin A. MacDonald's supervision. His thesis focused on smooth muscle cell motility regulation mechanisms through the death-associated protein kinase (DAPK3).
