Database coordinated access of mid-band shared spectrum is being adopted by many regulatory bodies globally. However, the interference protection criteria is typically overly conservative, restricting the number of new entrants to the spectrum environment. Further, the database-driven spectrum sharing systems frequently use a limited amount of data to authorise spectrum access. This paper details the different types of data that could be incorporated into future database assisted systems and highlights some of the achievable gains of using more data to determine the aggregate interference thresholds.
