Computer simulation of mammographic imaging for applications in CAD

A method is described for the computer simulation of mammograms. Software has been
developed to model the conversion of input X-ray quanta to visible light photons inside a
phosphor screen. In this method, we separated the physics processes that convert X-ray
quanta to visible light photons inside a fluorescent screen into five mathematical
