Summary of the article: The concept of ‘literacy’ today includes much more than just the skills of reading and writing. We live in a time of so-called transliteracy. The future of learning is digital, and will be an interactive and personalised, not a passive experience of students as recipients of content and knowledge. Public libraries across Europe are thriving to redefine their priorities and emphasize their role in the life of local communities: they are becoming vivid meeting places, spaces for gathering, further education and digital literacy. With the proliferation of freelance workers (and the "Gig" economy) libraries also become the free labor havens for numerous freelancers and technonomads. In this sense, public libraries should be spaces for audience engagement, for collaborative, partnership relationship with their users. The audience is getting the opportunity to take a more active role in the design of library content and library services, e.g. to create them, rather than just consume them. If the priority of our states is highly educated and technologically literate nation, then these priorities must be clearly visible and proportionate to investment in public libraries, where the primacy is of the users, and not of the library funds.

Kulturna transformacija grada (City Cultural Transformation) is a chrestomathy of various texts offering a new approach to the topic of culture as a key element for sustainability and progress in a contemporary society. Editors: Biljana Mickov and Dragan Ilic. Contributors: John Holden, Hasan Bakhshi, Ivana Jovanović Arsić, Darko Polić, Mauro Felicori, Isidora Stanković, Esteve Carames, Vladimir Gvozden, Sunčica Pasuljević Kandić, Srđan Srdić, Dragan Ilić, Vladimir Crnjanski, Jovan Čekić, Ivan Pravdić, Uroš Ušćebrka and Kristian Lukić.

Creative workshops "Playroomgirl" is an international project initiated by Serbian NGO Kulturis in cooperation with the Spanish organization Neuronit, aiming to develop creativity and encourage artistic expression through photography, as well as to develop a critical attitude towards the established stereotypes regarding the role of women in contemporary society. This project, supported by the Serbian Ministry of Culture is focused on girls of age group 14-16 coming from different social and family backgrounds. Project "Playroomgirl" forms part of a broader international program that was organized in Spain and Mexico, with the main goal to improve living conditions of women and girls, especially from socially marginalized groups through art and new technologies.

The backbone of Serbian project are four creative workshops. The starting point in analyzing the role of women in modern society will be photos of some of the greatest female photographers and artists (Marina Abramovic, Cindy Sherman, Dorothea Lange, Cari Mae Weems, Diane Arbus, Mary Ruth Anderson, etc). These should illustrate the constancy of women's position in all ages despite of the progress of modern era. Based on this analysis, participants will re-interpret the given photo-scene and create their own photos, alternating in the role of photographers and models. Afterwards, they will have the cance to acquire basic skills of digital image manipulation programs.
The workshops are interactive and content will be presented with practical examples, experiments, games and didactic "role - play" activities with emphasis on group work. Project sustainability is ensured by a virtual exhibition that will include all created artworks, giving audience a chance to compare different photos inspired by the very same original.

The idea is to present sustainable and creative models from the experiences of European countries, as well as to highlight positive local experiences. Project aims to contribute to the creation of new models in Serbia, while emphasizing the necessity of inter-sector cooperation, institutional networking as well as creating a dialogue with European organizations in order to encourage future cooperation. Project will intend to raise awareness of culture as an important economic branch and cultural programmes as market-oriented product that, as any other product, loses its purpose without its consumers/audience.
The central part of the project, the organization of seminars, entails three sessions (in Vrsac, Zrenjanin and Pancevo) and will be held by eminent European experts on this subject: Richard Hadley (independent consultant and expert in audience development, Audiences Europe Network, Hereford, UK); Angel Mestres (Transit projects, General manager, Barcelona Spain) and Laszlo Hemrik (Ludwig museum, Head of Museum Education Department, Budapest Hungary).
