When two “green” institutions join forces, the result is truly impactful! Sociedade Ponto Verde and Greenvolt Group are now united through a Greenvolt Comunidades #EnergyCommunity, ensuring access to clean and affordable energy. Through this collaboration, Sociedade Ponto Verde will benefit from surplus energy generated by our installation at the Volunteer Firefighters of Algés, illustrating well the democratizing potential of this shared energy model, which can even support those without the facilities to produce their own energy. As Ana Isabel Trigo Morais, CEO of Sociedade Ponto Verde, states, “without any need for additional infrastructure, we’re able to support the country’s energy transition by consuming energy that’s genuinely green and accessible”. This partnership strengthens both organizations’ commitments to sustainability, turning this green synergy into tangible outcomes.

There’s nothing better than bringing our #PlugIntoKnowledge to a place that perfectly exemplifies the potential and flexibility of #renewableenergy, such as the Colégio Marista de Carcavelos, in the Cascais area, where Greenvolt Group, through Greenvolt Comunidades, implemented an Energy Community. We took advantage of the Magusto celebration at the school to promote our #energyliteracy initiative for children and young students, explaining the operation and benefits of this energy-sharing model that enables the democratization of access to cleaner and more affordable energy. A special thank you to Colégio Marista de Carcavelos for opening the doors of their school community, allowing us to continue this important work of raising awareness and sharing knowledge for a greener society.

Sharing knowledge also means being at the forefront of debates that are shaping the renewable energy sector, and recent weeks have been a great example of this. In #Portugal, we engaged in discussions on sustainable and regenerative business solutions at Insure Hub, explored the role of technological innovation and AI in sustainability practices at the Culture and Sustainability Conference, tackled the energy transition in Iberia at EVEx, and also took part in the Portugal Smart Cities Summit, centered on the development of Energy Communities. In #Poland, we participated in Energy Days 2024, exploring the role of energy storage in market transformation; in #Spain, we joined the Solarplaza Summit to discuss our cases of hybrid renewable assets combining wind, solar, and storage; and in #Romania, we showcased our decentralized energy solutions at INDAGRA, a fair focused on the agricultural sector. It’s good to see our team’s expertise increasingly recognized across various events and regions, and to be part of the collective effort towards sustainable energy, one conversation at a time. #PlugIntoKnowledge visited the Universidade da Beira Interior and IPCB - Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco to promote renewable energy literacy among engineering students and discuss their role in the energy transition. High attendance, lively debates, and active Q&As proved just how engaged future #engineers are with these topics, from storage solutions to decentralized energy models and emerging innovations and technologies, everything was up for debate 👏. Representing Greenvolt Group, Executive Director Carlos Coelho highlighted the initiative as “a true platform for sharing knowledge and fostering connections within the academic community, especially for those shaping the future of renewables”. A heartfelt thanks to our speakers for their generosity, to the students for their positive energy, and to our hosts, two prestigious institutions truly dedicated to connecting people through #knowledge. ✨

The latest activity from our #PlugIntoKnowledge initiative remains fresh in our minds. It was a truly special gathering between two generations - children and seniors from Vila Viçosa - who came together for a workshop at one of our solar parks in the region. As Rui D. Oliveira, New Energy Projects Senior Associate at Greenvolt, noted: “This workshop reflects Greenvolt Group's commitment to promoting renewable #energyliteracy, empowering different generations - both young and senior, who are often overlooked in these topics - and demonstrates our dedication to explaining the importance of our projects within the communities where they operate”. On this International Day Against Climate Change, we’re reminded that overcoming this challenge starts with #knowledge, driving conscious and impactful actions.

Today, our #PlugIntoKnowledge initiative traveled to southern Portugal, to #Alentejo, for a special event where knowledge bridged generations, bringing together children from São Romão School and students from Vila Viçosa Senior University. In a hands-on workshop at one of our solar power plants in the region, participants explored solar and wind-powered models, learned how a photovoltaic module works, and engaged in meaningful dialogue about integrating green solutions into everyday life. Their newfound knowledge was put to the test in a fun, interactive quiz, and everyone did exceptionally well💡. A big thank you to all participants for their enthusiasm and curiosity, and a special thanks to Vila Viçosa Municipality for their collaboration in making this event possible. 🔜 Next stop? Our #PlugIntoKnowledge journey is on the road to energize and empower individuals in the transition to renewable energy, with recent stops in #Tábua and ISCTE Business School. In Tábua, coinciding with the inauguration of our Solar Photovoltaic Plant, we hosted a guided tour for local high school students, providing them with a firsthand look at how solar energy infrastructure operates. We had the pleasure of participating as guests at an event organized by ERSE - where the regulatory context of Energy Sharing Projects in Portugal, including our project at the Clube de Futebol Os Belenenses stadium, was presented and discussed. This initiative featured insights from Greenvolt Group's Director of Regulatory Affairs, Sofia Pinto Barbosa, and the CEO of Greenvolt Comunidades, José Queirós de Almeida, DBA, who spoke about the current state of legislation and regulation on Energy Sharing in Portugal, as well as the benefits of Greenvolt’s business model, which delivers clean, affordable energy for everyone. The event brought together international representatives from various energy regulatory associations across Europe and the Mediterranean, who visited the Clube de Futebol Os Belenenses stadium to experience this good example of a Greenvolt Energy Community,  where 25% of the energy surplus is shared with local families and businesses, while the remaining 75% of the surplus is directed to the Champalimaud Foundation Clinical Center, a medical, scientific, and technological institution with cutting-edge capabilities. #EnergyCommunities #Greenvolt #EnergyTransition #Sustainability

Today, at ISCTE Business School, #PlugIntoKnowledge | The First Step to the Energy Transition continued with an engaging #Talk featuring João Manso Neto, CEO of Greenvolt Group, Catarina Barreiros, Founder & CEO of Do Zero, and Catarina Roseta Palma, Associate Professor at ISCTE, moderated by Clementina Barroso, Professor at ISCTE. The session sparked lively discussions, broadening students' understanding of the role of renewable energy in the energy transition, as well as the growing influence of conscious consumers and emerging leaders in driving sustainable change. Speaking to an audience of future business leaders, the Talk also underscored how renewables and ESG factors are becoming central to business strategies, opening a wide array of opportunities for companies.
