Thirteen year old Leslie Wagner Wilson is brought to live at the commune by her single mother. With charismatic leader Jim Jones' healing miracles and emphasis on social equality for all, Vernon and Leslie both feel like they've found a beautiful way of life. But their paradise soon becomes a prison as Jim Jones turns to violence and mind control and moves the community to a remote jungle location in Guyana.
