The purpose of this international gymnastics exhibition was to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the creator of Swedish gymnastics, Pehr Henrik Ling. The event was organized by the Swedish Gymnastics Federation with the participation of 7,399 gymnasts from 37 countries. The largest delegation came from Denmark with 1,900 participants. Germany sent 1,000 participants, all of whom were accommodated aboard the Kraft durch Freude cruise ship Wilhelm Gustloff. Written by
