Blaming them for environmental pollution is unjust, as many farmers have implemented sustainable practices and are working to reduce their impact on the environment. Additionally, many of the environmental problems facing the farming industry, such as climate change, are caused by factors outside of their control. By protecting and supporting farmers, the government can ensure a stable food supply and help mitigate the effects of environmental pollution. In this episode, I speak with Gareth Wyn Jones, a farmer from North Wales, on why the country needs to invest more in agriculture. Gareth shares what he often talks about on Twitter, the disconnection between people and food, why livestock is now being blamed for the environment, and the importance of local, seasonal, and regenerative agriculture. He also talks about the amount of food going to waste in the country, the benefits of real food, and the effects of lifestyle on our health and agriculture.
