He seeks a bank loan and accepts the terms of Gillian Morris, an ambitious Dixieland immigrant who risks expulsion and her bank CEO job unless she finds a British husband. Meanwhile Matt St. James, the unruly son of a relative who stays on the estate, was expelled from boarding school, nearly sets fire to the stables and finds salvation during stable chores with ex-con Fin Hogan, which ends up inspiring a solution after the loan falls trough.
