The friend devoutly hopes that Max will suffer from mal de mer, and cut a ridiculous figure before his wife, whom he trusts will be cured of her admiration for Max. He chooses a particularly windy day for the trip, and with his wife and Max, well prepared for rough weather, he sets off. Max sternly refuses to acknowledge any qualmish feelings, and it is the husband who first collapses. Max is not long in following suit, and the wife is heartily amused at the weakness of her escorts, until suddenly she, too, falls in a heap in the bottom of the boat. Written by The Bioscope See less
