"I'll get the money," he declares, and goes to his old college friend, whom he has been reluctant to ask for help. Circumstances make it necessary that the friend should send him to his office, where he helps himself, by permission, to the money he needs. As the landlord, satisfied, is' leaving the premises, he is halted by a policeman who arrests Mordaunt for murder. His friend's father has been found dead in the office. Suddenly a door opens and a man enters, the doctor, who has come to visit the sick woman. And outside he hears the honking of an automobile; his friend has come with good news. It is all a dream, born of anxious thoughts. Written by
