About this ebook

Disgraced nobleman Lyle Walt has finally started to make a name for himself as an adventurer after leading the charge to defeat a group of bandits plaguing the city of Darion. He’s even started to gain the respect of the seven generations of ancestors whose spirits reside inside the pendant he wears around his neck. But learning a few Arts and earning some respect hasn’t helped much with his current goal: finding a way to support himself and the growing cast of women in his life. As Lyle forges on, he finds himself tangled in the intricate web of Darion’s local politics and fighting to survive the dangers of his first dungeon. He even grows closer to a man he once thought despised him—Basil Walt, the fierce warrior and barbarian tamer who founded his house. But as Lyle’s understanding of Basil deepens, he begins to realize that the founder’s plans for the future might not align with his own...

Whole lots of this-noble-and-that-noble-did-whatever! At least Paula didn't end up in the harem. Training isn't Training - it is called community service, and no one pays "a-small-fortune" for that! Leaving Rondo's group out of second part really sucked. One reason why is numbers on party were sucky for most of second half of book. No transition for Aria and Sophie from first using arts and making fools of themselves to being expert wielders at the end of book. Zelphy needs to be integrated better. The cliche end scene where leader gives commands that no obeys and everyone debates as the big last happens wasn't funny! I honestly still don't like male MC! Novem is practically an non-entity now. Was she really needed in last battle! It was crazy how "bad" (pun completely intended) of a last boss was needed just to make Novem. Clearly the author doesn't want to discuss magic at all except when it helps to finish an event. You make the whole story about magical arts but don't finish with that?! You finish with magic you never discuss with a tool you never discuss?! Why don't I skip 90% of book and just read the ending?
