    𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 The employment process is critical and should be carried out step-by-step to ensure the best fit for the vacant role gets the job at the end of the day; as selecting the wrong candidate can result in a huge loss to an organisation 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 The Line Manager and interviewer should go through the applications together and divide them into three groups — “Yes, Maybe, and No”. Only candidates that fall into yes and maybe should be invited for the assessment and interview. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 Before the interview, conduct adequate research into the details of the job role and prepare a list of suitable questions with specific time limits. Take note of the candidate’s attitude, work ethic, motivation, commitment, feedback culture, and teamwork. The candidate’s mannerisms and answers will give insight to these. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭(𝐬) After the interview, take the time to pool the candidate(s) who matches your checklist from the lot. The candidate’s resume, performance in the test and interview among other criteria should help in making your final decision. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 hen you get your finalist(s), perform background checks on them to help narrow down your search. The background check should be comprehensive to prevent you from making a bad hiring decision 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫 After selecting a suitable candidate, make an offer — an employment contract drawn up by the Human Resources Manager.
