This issue still exists for the old search on https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wiktionary:Main_Page?useskin=vector
Both the vector search, and the inputbox search of the mainpage of wiktionary are affected.

In regard to fallback ordering: In Scholia, I have tended to just use ISO alphabetic sorting with "en" as a priority, something like [AUTO_LANGUAGE],en,cz,da,de,es,fr,it,jp,nb,nl,uk,zh (the language in the list have tended to be rather random). Now that we have mul, this could be [AUTO_LANGUAGE],mul,en,cz,da,de,...

(Reopening, I see no reason to merge this task with comments over several years into the brand new T377654 rather than the other way around as would be usual.)

Since I merged another ticket into this one, I've updated the title to be more precise and easier to find in the future.

This ticket was used only for tracking reindexes in a single place. In the future, we'll just track reindexing in individual tasks.

Briefly, there are more and possibly better use-cases than the ones listed, including: checking for copyvios or vandalism, replacing a batch of files, or in my case for reuploading videos that were imported below resolution at the source via video2commons. It also allows seeing galleries of files uploaded by a user via the MediaSearch which is what this gadget and categories like this are about which are also useful. I think uploader is already available in MediaWIki and this data would need to be made available for the search. However, the search operator shouldn't be called since it's about the uploader of files, not the author/creator (the latter can already be searched).
