Lady Gaga’s fiancé, Michael Polansky, pulls back the curtain on what it’s really like dating someone so famous in a rare new interview.
“Accepting that you won’t have the privacy others might have was the hardest part,” the venture capitalist told Elle for the pop star’s February 2025 cover story, published Tuesday.
“But Stefani’s comfort with it and patience with me has been amazing,” he added, using Gaga’s real name, Stefani Germanotta.
Polansky, 41, shared that the couple’s relationship is “probably a lot like everyone else’s,” only they “have to figure out how to do some of it in public.”
He explained that they “find normalcy” wherever they can, including by maintaining “strong friendships and close family relationships” and hosting loved ones at their Malibu, Calif., home.
Gaga, 38, chimed in, “We make pasta together; we roast things. We also really like making simple dishes with Michael’s mom, who lives nearby.
“She and I have built our friendship by sharing our life experiences with each other,” the “Disease” singer continued. “It’s about the way we grew up, being a woman in the workplace, what her experience was like and what mine is like, and kind of tracking different generations.”
Gaga and Polansky met at a charity event in 2019 and got engaged last year.
In the magazine profile, the “Joker: Folie à Deux” actress shared that she hopes to start a family with the Harvard graduate in the near future.
“Family — it’s like the roots of the tree. They grow long, and sometimes they’re mangled, and sometimes they’re full of water, and sometimes they’re thirsty,” she said.
“Family is what makes you who you are, and it also defines your need for change.”
Gaga was previously engaged to “Chicago Fire” star Taylor Kinney from 2015 to 2016 and talent agent Christian Carino from 2017 to 2019.
