My wife and I have started rewatching Cold Feet, and I couldn’t help but notice that we’re now older than the characters during their original run at the turn of the century. TIL about Star Trek Continues
The fan mad web series, Star Trek Continues, published their first episode in 2013 according to Wikipedia. Somehow, I think I have never heard of it, despite loving Star Trek. Better late than never, and I enjoyed the first episode this morning. It’s all available on YouTube. The series continues on where the original series ended, with the 5-year mission of the Enterprise being wrapped up in the last 2 episodes. An interview with Richard Dean Anderson
I didn’t think Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver, Stargate SG-1) gave interviews any more. I knew he had some serious health issues, but he’s looking good in this interview. I used to love watching Mork and Mindy when I was growing up. Robin Williams was a wonderful comedian, but in this scene he’s not the funny, mad cap comedian we know. It’s heart breaking.

Get Smart gets Ska
Remember Get Smart? If you’re of a certain age, you saw this when it was broadcast, or if you’re slightly younger, you saw it on reruns on Saturday mornings, or you might even have come across the 1990s remake, which I haven’t watched yet. Anyway, the theme song was great. It’s instantly recognisable and the Melbourne Ska Orchestra did a great version of the Get Smart theme song with a ska beat. If you liked the original I think you’ll love this. Great video too! Get Smart ska style.

Computers are the big thing this year
All the kids are gone bananas about computers. There’s approximately 1,000 Commodore 64s in Irish schools. In 1983. Gay Byrne on the Late Late Toy Show in 1983 interviewed nine year old Oric whizz kid, Mark Feldman who has been playing games since he was six, and thirteen year old Johnson McEvoy who does programming and games and creates graphics. Nice demo of the Commodore 64, playing some sort of typing tutor game too! I had no idea the C64 was ever on the Late Late Show!

When Diego heard a cat
Our chihuahua Diego’s favourite time of the day is when I tell him, “we watch TV!” He looks up expectantly and runs into the living room. We’ll sit down on the couch and Diego will jump up on one of us and settle down for a sleep and gentle rubs. We’re going through the 1978 series of All Creatures Great and Small right now.
