Tom Brady vows to let it loose in Fox broadcast booth: ‘Be a jerk!’

Tom Brady promises he will be spicy in the broadcast booth.

As Brady embarks on his 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox Sports to be the network’s top NFL color commentator, he joined NFL Network’s “The Insiders” program Thursday.

Co-host Tom Pelissero wondered if Brady might struggle holding players to his own lofty standards, as he is widely considered the greatest quarterback of all-time.

“It’s a great point and I’d say that’s a point that I have to continue to develop and learn and understand,” Brady said.

“Because I do, a lot like Peyton [Manning], I have a very high expectation for how I think the game needs to be played and how it needs to be coached and how it needs to be officiated. I wanna see the game grow, I wanna see it succeed, I wanna see it better than ever.

“How can I play a role in impacting that? I can give my own opinion and if people want to listen, great. And if they don’t that’s OK, but I only have the best intentions for what I’m about to undertake, and I love the group of teammates that I’m undertaking it with.”

Pelissero pressed Brady to not hold back on criticism of players and coaches on the field, and Brady assured him this would not be the case.

“I got you. Don’t worry baby, I’m on it. Next year you might say, ‘Tom, tone it down man, you’re being a jerk out there.’ I’ll be like, ‘No, no, no, you told me I could cut it loose.”
