WNBA rookie Kate Martin pranked again by Aces as bus leaves without her: ‘Don’t be late’

WNBA rookie Kate Martin was on the receiving end of good-natured hazing by her teammates on the Las Vegas Aces.

On Tuesday, A’ja Wilson, the two-time WNBA MVP, posted a video on her Instagram Story of Martin running after the team bus as it was driving away.

Martin was smiling as she was hustling, and the other players on the Aces were laughing hysterically in the background of Wilson’s video.

“Don’t be late to the bus,” Wilson captioned the video, adding laughing emojis.

This is already the second time the Aces have pranked Martin on the bus.

Last month, she was the recipient of a pink Hello Kitty backpack and was urged by her teammates to give a speech commemorating the occasion.

“I feel really honored that I get to walk around with this,” Martin deadpanned.

“Thank you so much for this opportunity. I’d not only like to thank God, but Jesus. Yeah, thank you.”

Martin, who starred alongside Caitlin Clark at Iowa, was a relative afterthought in the WNBA draft compared to players like Clark, Cameron Brink, Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese.

Martin was ultimately selected by the Aces with the sixth pick in the second round.

Nevertheless, she has been a contributor for the two-time defending champions, averaging 21 minutes per game in five appearances off the bench.

The Aces have started the season 4-2 and play on the road in Dallas against the Wings on Wednesday.
