VICTORY for the environmental justice movement in Argentina! 🎉 In an unprecedented verdict, justice found La Regina guilty of aggravated environmental damage and animal cruelty against the Magellanic penguins in Punta Tombo. This is a clear sign that environmental crimes cannot go unpunished 🌎
🎉 HISTÓRICO VEREDICTO EN LA CAUSA DE LOS PINGÜINOS DE PUNTA TOMBO 🐧⚖️ Desde Greenpeace Argentina, junto a abogades ambientalistas y Fundación Patagonia Natural , celebramos como organizaciones querellantes, el fallo histórico en la causa por la masacre de pingüinos Magallanes en Punta Tombo. 📸 En un veredicto sin precedentes, la justicia encontró culpable a La Regina por daño ambiental agravado y crueldad animal. Aunque la sentencia aún no se ha emitido, esperamos que el fallo refleje el impacto devastador comprobado por testigos locales e internacionales durante una semana de juicio. Este caso es un hito para la justicia ambiental y la protección de la naturaleza. La indignación de la ciudadanía frente a esta masacre hoy recibe justicia. Este precedente histórico sienta bases para políticas más estrictas que protejan la vida silvestre y el ambiente. 🏞️ La Reserva Punta Tombo, hogar de una de las mayores colonias de pingüinos Magallanes en el mundo, sufrió en 2021 una tragedia ambiental sin precedentes: un centenar de pingüinos muertos, nidos destruidos y vegetación arrasada por maquinaria pesada.
