At Feadship, we prioritize sustainability and are conscious of our ecological impact. We meticulously track the origins and sourcing of every material used in our yachts, allowing us to calculate emissions from both sourcing and transportation. In the rebuild of Mira, we’ve sought the most sustainable solutions, including repurposing leftover paint from a recent Feadship project for her dark blue finish. Our commitment to becoming more sustainable involves continuous effort and a shift in mindset. The small, thoughtful choices made during Mira's restoration will drive significant improvements in our future yacht-building practices. This year Feadship celebrates 75 years of maritime excellence and Mira is the perfect example of our rich heritage. Originally built in the 1950s by Wietsen and Vis, Mira was prepared for her debut at the 1951 Motorboat Show in America by Van Lent and is now undergoing a complete rebuild at the De Vries facility, further cementing her status as a true Feadship. At Feadship, the refit of Sport exemplifies our commitment to excellence and precision in yacht restoration. A couple of years ago, Sieger van Kampen, project leader at a Feadship training school, discovered a stripped boat on the Dutch equivalent of eBay.  After digging through the seller's premises, Sieger found a crucial build plate, confirming the boat was a Feadship. Now, students at Feadship Makkum are giving Mira, a complete facelift. The lesson? Always keep an eye out for classic boats—you never know when you'll stumble upon a Feadship!
