Nickelodeon

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish will make its international debut on Netflix in mid-November, with the series also making its streaming debut on Netflix in the U.S. on Thursday, November 14.

Update (11/15): Netflix has added the first 10 episodes of The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish globally!

"Get ready! @nickelodeon Fairly OddParents: A New Wish drops its first 6 episodes on @netflix worldwide this Thursday, Nov. 14th!," said director Andrew Morgan on Threads, adding "Help us get a second season! Premiere viewership is the key! Watch all the episodes tomorrow, binge it hard, and hit that replay button as many times as you can! Let’s make a second season happen! We want to make more!!!!!!! 🎉 #fairlyoddparentsanewwish #fairlyoddparents #nickelodeon #premier #netflix #animation"

In regions outside the U.S., where the series has not aired yet, The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish will be a Netflix Original. In the U.S., where the show has already aired on Nickelodeon, the series will continue to carry Nickelodeon branding.

The news was first reported by our friends over at What's on Netflix.

In The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, ten-year-old Hazel Wells has just moved to the big city of Dimmadelphia because of her dad’s new job. On top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it’s the first time she’s been without her brother, Antony, who’s just left for college, leaving her lonely and unsure of herself. All that changes when the pink-and-green-haired neighbors next door reveal that they are no ordinary neighbors…they’re Cosmo and Wanda, Fairy Godparents! And they’re coming out of retirement to make all of Hazel’s wishes come true. As well as new characters, the series brings back many from the original series, including Vicky, Mr. Crocker, CJ, and Poof, who now goes by the name of Peri. The series also features many Easter eggs calling back to the original show.

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish stars Ashleigh Crystal Hairston (Tiny Toons Looniversity, Craig of the Creek) as the voice of Hazel Wells, joining The Fairly OddParents alums Daran Norris (The Loud House, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder) as the voice of Cosmo, and Susanne Blakeslee (The Loud House, Amphibia) as the voice of Wanda.

The CG-animated series, which features a brand new art style for the franchise, is produced by Nickelodeon Animation in Burbank and is co-executive produced by David Stone (Teen Titans Go!), Lindsay Katai (Infinity Train), Ashleigh Crystal Hairston, and Daniel Abramovici (The Peanuts Movie). Fred Seibert (Adventure Time) and Butch Hartman (The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom) serve as Executive Producers. Production is overseen by Claudia Spinelli, Senior Vice President, TV Series Animation, Nickelodeon, and Kelley Gardner, Vice President, Current Series, Animation, Nickelodeon. The series is overseen by Executive in Charge, Neil Wade.

Produced by Nickelodeon Animation, the series premiered on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Monday, May 20, with the season one finale airing on August 8.

There’s currently no word on whether the show is set to get a second season. The show was given an upfront order of 20 episodes (36 segments), with all of those making up season 1 of the show now aired. It’s likely going to be the case that Netflix viewership plus Nickelodeon viewership goes into making a renewal decision.

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, a soundtrack featuring music from the series from Republic Records: Kids & Family, is available to stream on music platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, and available to purchase on iTunes.

Nickelodeon’s beloved animated The Fairly OddParents series, which ran from 2001-2017 with 172 episodes, followed the magical adventures of 10-year-old Timmy Turner and his well-meaning Fairy Godparents who grant him wishes. During its run, The Fairly OddParents became one of Nickelodeon’s most beloved properties from both fans and critics alike, having won and been nominated for dozens of awards. The Fairly OddParents was created by Butch Hartman.

Seasons one, two and three of the original series are available to stream on Netflix in most countries, with the full series available to stream on Paramount+ in the U.S.

'The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish' Showrunner Talks Future Plans For Show; How Fans Can Help Get the Show Renewed For Season Two

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, a sequel to Nickelodeon's beloved animated The Fairly OddParents, made its debut to critical acclaim in May 2024, with fans saying that A New Wish has put the magic back into the franchise. With all 20 episodes of its first season now aired, and the first 10 episodes now available on Netflix globally, fans are eager to know whether Hazel, Cosmo and Wanda will be back for a second season.

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish
Nickelodeon

Unfortunately, at the time of posting, a sophomore season for A New Wish has yet to be announced, however, with the first half of season one now available on Netflix, fans and the show's production team are hopeful for a season two.

Speaking to our friends over at What's on Netflix to celebrate the launch of The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish on Netflix, Lindsay Katai, one of the showrunners on the new The Fairly OddParents series, talks about the crew's frustration on the show not yet being renewed, and what she hopes to include in future episodes, and how fans can help get the show renewed:

Fans seem aware online that you’ve yet to be officially picked up for a season 2 – can you talk about any plans you’d have for the show going forward if you were to get picked up, and what’s the best way fans can assist in any renewal?

Yeah, because Nickelodeon aired every episode we produced, we’ve been able to be very open about not having a season two yet. This is a spoiler for season one (and only the first half of season one will be on Netflix as of November 14th; we don’t yet know when the second half will be available to stream), but if we get another season, I’m most excited to include Hazel’s friends and brother in the wishes now that they’re allowed to know about fairies. That was a change in the show’s DNA I was pushing as early as the brainstorm. I was so excited they let us make that change and then we didn’t get an immediate pickup and I kept wailing, ”THEN WHAT WAS IT ALL FOR?” It was such a darkly comic thing to happen, to let us open up the world like that and then to have Papa Paramount be like, “Actually, all shows now have to wait for viewer data before getting a decision about more episodes.” And for us, because Netflix was a producing partner from the beginning, that meant we had to wait until we premiered on Netflix! We’re animated, are you kidding me, do you know how long that will take? Like, I got pregnant in the third week of development, and my kid is two years old now, and we are still hoping for a second season.

So anyway, the best way for fans to help is to watch it on Netflix, watch it all, watch it in the first week, watch it AGAIN, tell everyone you know to watch it and keep posting about the show on social media. The only way we’ll come back is if we have the numbers and I sincerely hope we come back.

'The Fairly OddParents' Brings Back Vicky in New Sequel

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish has brought back the series' biggest villain, Vicky

Vicky / The Fairly OddParents

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish has reached the final slate of episodes scheduled for its debut season, and the sequel series has made sure to bring back Timmy's evil babysitter Vicky before it all ends. The Fairly OddParents made its return to Nickelodeon earlier this year with a brand new version of the classic series. Focusing on a new Godkid at the center of it all and moving away from Timmy Turner, The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish has been steadily connecting this new era with the original animated series with a number of notable returning friends and foes from that original series.

While previous episodes of The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish brought back characters from the original like Cosmo and Wanda's son Poof (now named Peri), Timmy's friend A.J., Mr. Crocker and more, one of the latest episodes of the new series has finally brought back its original villain, Vicky, who has returned to the franchise to once again serve as an evil babysitter causing Hazel and the other kids harm with her big comeback.

How The Fairly OddParents Brings Back Vicky

In The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish episode, "Operation: Birthday Takeback" Dev Dimmadome's father hired a mysterious babysitter to look after him for his birthday party, and it turns out to be Vicky. Cosmo and Wanda point out that this is indeed the same Vicky that served as the reason they ended up with Timmy, and she's there to get the kids to make things for her online store. But Hazel and the others are able to escape and turn things on her (even while playing Chip Skylark's "Icky Vicky" from the original series over a key scene) before it's all said and done.

It's yet to be revealed if with all of these callbacks and returns if Timmy Turner's return to the series is on the table. The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish co-executive producer Lindsay Katai previously told ComicBook that Timmy wouldn't be appearing, however, "So...Timmy exists elsewhere and people's ideal of what his ending can be can remain their ideal," Katai explaind "Cosmo and Wanda won't be done after Hazel, but Hazel is their current god kid. We wanted to tip our little pink hat to Timmy here and there, so we have other visual gags referencing Timmy as well, but I don't know if we want to spoil right out of the gate, but that's just one of them."

'The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish' Turns Poof Into a Full-Fledged Adult

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish has re-introduced Poof as an adult, now named Peri!

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish has been showcasing a new sequel to the original animated series, and with the newest episode has reintroduced Poof as an adult now named Peri! The Fairly OddParents made its grand comeback to screens earlier this year with a brand new series revealed to be an official sequel to the Nickelodeon original. Although it features a new Godkid named Hazel at the center of the adventures, the sequel series brings back a few familiar faces like Cosmo and Wanda. It means everything that happened in the original animated series is still very much a part of the timeline for this new take.

Dale Dimmadome, owner of the Dimmadome Globodome, was one of the characters brought back to serve as a sort of antagonist in The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, and the new series has demonstrated how different his son, Dev, is from his father. Dev, grandson of the one and only Doug Dimmadome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome. and new star Hazel have become good friends, but the newest episode sees the two of them have a big fight that leaves Dev more depressed and alone than ever. But the final moments of the episode then take it to a new level by introducing Dev's new Fairy GodParent, Peri, who's actually the adult version of Cosmo and Wanda's son, Poof. Check it out as spotted by @Getlucky1234 on X:

The Fairly OddParents: Who Is Poof?

In The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish episode titled "Lost and Founder's Day," which aired on Nickelodeon on Monday, July 22, Dev is introduced to his new GodParent named Peri. First he introduces himself as Poof, but then reveals he actually changed his name to Peri, to match with his Periwinkle color scheme. “I changed my name to Peri, like periwinkle,” he explains in the clip above. In addition to being his signature color, it’s also presumably a nod to Fairywinkle, his mother’s maiden name. Hilariously, earlier in the episode Cosmo and Wanda actually referenced their son noting that they had no idea where he was at the time. Meaning, there is no telling what kind of relationship the parents and child have in the sequel.

As for his grown-up look, Peri displays a combination of traits he inherited from both of his parents. His hair features Wanda’s signature swirl, while his thick eyebrows were undeniably passed down from Cosmo. In addition to rocking suspenders, his fairy wand is reminiscent of the rattle he carried around as a baby.

Now the Fairy Godfather to Dev, Peri promises to take his new godson “from Dev to Dev-ine!”

Cosmo and Wanda’s grown-up son is voiced by Eric Bauza (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), who also provided the voice for Foop, the Anti-Fairy version of Poof, in the original series.

The Fairly OddParents first introduced Poof as Cosmo and Wanda's child during the Season 6 premiere, "Fairly Odd Baby." He was the first fairy baby born in 10,000 years and served as a way to shake up the status quo. It was the first of many shake ups for the original series as the later seasons added new members to the core cast such as a magical dog named Sparky, a girl named Chloe that Timmy had to share Cosmo and Wanda with and more. But now that Peri is back in the franchise, expect even more shake ups!

Other familiar faces to make a return to the new The Fairly OddParents series include Jorgen Von Strangle.

The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish stars previously announced Ashleigh Crystal Hairston (Tiny Toons Looniversity, Craig of the Creek) as the voice of Hazel Wells, joining The Fairly OddParents alums Daran Norris (The Loud House, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder) as the voice of Cosmo, and Susanne Blakeslee (The Loud House, Amphibia) as the voice of Wanda.

The series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation in Burbank and is co-executive produced by David Stone (Teen Titans Go!), Lindsay Katai (Infinity Train), Ashleigh Crystal Hairston, and Daniel Abramovici (The Peanuts Movie).

Produced by Nickelodeon Animation, the 20-episode series premiered on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Monday, May 20, and will be available on Netflix internationally later this year.

Nickelodeon’s beloved animated The Fairly OddParents series, which ran from 2001-2017 with 172 episodes, followed the magical adventures of 10-year-old Timmy Turner and his well-meaning Fairy Godparents who grant him wishes.
