COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — As we wrap up this year, theColumbus Film Critics Association is gearing up for its 22nd annual awards.
The list of nominees are in, with numerous films in its 17 categories, many of which including Barbie, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Oppenheimer are up for multiple local recognitions.
The Best Film category, for which Martin McDonagh's The Banshees of Inisherin won in 2022, has 12 contenders this year, spanning various genres and film styles. Of those, five are also nominated for Best Director including the three mentioned above in addition to Past Lives and Poor Things.
In terms of acting, while 24 individuals are nominated for their roles, both lead and supporting, COFCA also nominated five people for Actor of the Year for the body of work the performer had throughout the year.
