Today, Digital Nasional Berhad hosted the ‘Connected Seaports Forum & Executive Roundtable’, focusing on advancing 5G adoption within Malaysia's maritime industry. Themed "The Transformation Journey Towards Digital Seaport 4.0," the event brought together local seaport operators, international peers, and technology providers to discuss the integration of 5G technologies into port operations. YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital Malaysia, officiated the event. In his speech, YB Gobind emphasised the importance of 5G in enhancing operational efficiency and competitiveness of Malaysian seaports, enabling innovations like AI-enabled autonomous vehicles, video container inspection, and predictive maintenance. As 5G adoption grows — with nearly 16.3 million service subscriptions in Malaysia — DNB remains committed to supporting the maritime sector and other industries in leveraging this technology for long-term growth and competitiveness. #5GTechnology #FutureConnected #DNB

The second day of our official India trip was insightful and productive, starting with our Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim's discussion with Tata Group, India's largest conglomerate with products and services in over 150 countries and operations in 100 countries; Kolkata-headquartered Emami Agrotech Limited, the edible oil and bio-diesel arm of the Emami Group of Companies; and HCL Tech, a global technology company with business interests spanning 60 countries. I also witnessed two MOU exchanges. The first MOU was between India's National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) and the National Tech Association of Malaysia (PIKOM), with a shared mission to establish a collaborative relationship and foster a conducive environment for the development of trade in technology between India and Malaysia. The second MOU signing involved MDEC and NASSCOM, where both parties pledge to work towards driving collaboration between the two countries and establishing stronger, sustained, and long-term business engagement within the Malaysian digital ecosystem and the Indian tech industry, and vice versa. #MalaysiaMADANI #ICT #India #MDEC #NASSCOM #PIKOM

“Towards a Rising Global South: Leveraging Malaysia-India Ties” was the theme of the distinguished 50th Sapru House Lecture by our Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. YAB PM spoke most eloquently on the close ties between both nations and the challenges of a world fraught with uncertainties as the Global South reclaims its voice in the emerging international order. Enhancing strategic partnerships in trade and inter-regional mechanisms are critical, and he stressed that our shared prosperity ideals must consistently have multiculturalism and inclusivity at its core. A lot more efforts must to be done to advance a prosperous digital Malaysia for all. The Ministry of Digital will strive together with all ministries and agencies to elevate Malaysia to greater heights, with Infrastructure, Regulation, and Talent as our key pillars. #MalaysiaMADANI #India #Lecture

Met with about 150 attendees at the Engagement Session with the Malaysian Diaspora at the Malaysian High Commission. PM Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim gave a focused and pertinent speech on the close historical and present ties between India and Malaysia, our common cultural similarities, economic ambitions and the principles of shared prosperity. The PM was also gracious in taking a number of questions on various issues from the audience comprising academicians, medical students and the business community. Energy companies worldwide are racing to modernise their operations in the digital age. During my visit to the PETRONAS LNG Complex in Bintulu, I was filled with pride as I observed the strong collaboration between PETRONAS, Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), and TM in digitising Malaysia’s energy sector through the deployment of a private 5G network within the country’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant. I would also like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Sarawak State Government for its significant role in the ongoing partnership and support. The presence of YB Datuk Liwan Lagang, the Sarawak Deputy Minister of Utilities & Telecommunications made this 5G-powered milestone in the nation’s digitalisation journey even more significant. With the foundations of 5G use cases for MLNG in Bintulu now established — including digital safety, digital maintenance, digital operation, and enhanced surveillance — I am eager to see improvements, eg. cost efficiency, more reliable operations, safer processes, etc. I hope this move will inspire other industry players, particularly local oil and gas players, to embrace 5G technology, and add to the showcase of at least 40 5G enterprise use cases in manufacturing, oil and gas, logistics, healthcare, and plantations sectors ahead of our ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025. #MalaysiaMADANI #KementerianDigital #ICT #5G #Petronas
