I am a senior security, resilience and crisis leadership professional with over 20 years’ operational, project management and consulting experience. This includes 10 years working on counter-terrorism (CT), counter intelligence (CI) and serious organised crime across the Middle East, Africa and Latin America for the British Government, and 10 in the private sector advising commercial, governmental, and multilateral organisations on issues relating to risk and crisis management, digital security, insider threat, critical incident response, extortion and product contamination, terrorism, governance and human rights compliance, and conflict resolution.

Born and raised in the Middle East, I speak Arabic and French with near-native fluency, as well as proficient Spanish, and have studied Middle East History & Politics, Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh), Comparative Religion and Religious Extremism at academic institutions in the UK, Egypt, Lebanon and Syria. I am also a keen Ultra runner and completed the Marathon des Sables in Morocco in 2004 and the Atacama Crossing in Chile in 2014, both 6-day, 250km self-sufficient ultramarathons.
