The Euromed Migration project is thrilled to share that Ireland 🇮🇪 has become the 21st Member State to join our implementing organisation, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). Key to the Euromed Migration project, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland has played a pivotal role in advancing professionalisation and contributing to successful initiatives. Notably, the peer-exchange visit held earlier this year in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon 🇱🇧 showcasing their exemplary approach to diaspora engagement through effective knowledge-sharing and collaborative efforts. We join ICMPD in extending a warm welcome to Ireland as the newest member of the ICMPD network. 🔴 Multi-Dimensional #Governance drives #MigrationCapacityPartnerships 🔴 #TogetherWeDeliver

🌍 On 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀, ICMPD Mediterranean emphasises the importance of cooperative frameworks that promote cross-border and multi-agency collaboration to combat the trafficking of human beings (THB) and ensure victim protection. Through the delivery framework of #MigrationCapacityPartnerships for the Mediterranean, driven by Multi-Dimensional Governance🔴, Professionalisation🔵, Modernisation🟢, and Communication🟡, we uphold the notion of 𝙟𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 and 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮, strengthening efforts that aim to ensure safety and protection for those affected. 🤝 For over 20 years, ICMPD has been at the forefront of combating human trafficking, guiding stakeholders toward coordinated national and regional actions in policy and legislation, capacity development, victim rights protection, and the gathering and analysis of trafficking-related data.📊 #TogetherWeDeliver

#ThrowbackThursday Today on #WorldRefugeeDay 🌍, Euromed Migration V looks back on our Peer-to-Peer Conference held two years ago, titled ‘Capacity Partnerships: Responding to the Needs of Refugees by Developing Opportunities for Host Countries,’ which took place at the Dead Sea in Jordan 🇯🇴 in June 2022. The Conference was opened by Jordan’s Minister of Interior, H.E. Mazin Abdellah Hilal Al Farrayeh, followed by interventions from representatives of the European Union 🇪🇺, Germany🇩🇪 and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD). Under the notion of joint leadership and shared responsibility through 🔴 Multi-Dimensional #Governance driving #MigrationCapacityPartnerships🔴, ministerial representatives of EU Member States and Southern Partner Countries, as well as migration experts from international organisations and academia gathered together to explore ways in which international cooperation could strengthen national and regional capacities to mitigate the challenges and maximise the benefits arising from #ProtractedDisplacement.
