2017 Architecture Celebration and Design Awards, Sept. 7

Asheville NC –  The American Institute of Architects, Asheville Section (AIA Asheville) will celebrate architecture, architects, and great design at their 2017 Architecture Celebration and Design Awards on Thursday, September 7, 7:00pm at City County Plaza.  The evening begins with a social hour followed by a video awards presentation.  Residential and commercial categories will be recognized as well as other special awards.  This year AIA Asheville will award The Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County with a “Citizen Architect” award for their efforts and lasting contributions to preserving architecture in the community.

There are over 200 AIA members in Western North Carolina. AIA Asheville seeks to build affiliations with other community-based organizations, local and regional boards and commissions, and community individuals. They work to address issues of concern for the region such as historic preservation, smart growth, sustainability, green building, affordable housing and more.  AIA Asheville unites the community of design professionals who live and work in the area.
