It was very cool. fuck the spooky face that follows just in the corner of your vision tho.
Hi Modus, i have a question have you ever consider to talk with @DUSKDEV and give him your maps, i think this game's aesthetic fits perfectly with Dusk's aesthethic and viceversa.
sorry for my bad english im indian.
wow that was actually really cool
Masterpiece, one of the greatest games I’ve played
Um, what the fuck. Play this.
I really love the vibe and atmosphere of this game. While never having enemies or threats that could give me a "game over" I nonetheless felt constantly on edge and unsettled as I played through each world. The textures are so esoteric and weird that I found myself just stopping to stare. Such a well done expereince.
the game was an interesting experience. The sense of dread was there, but I was also feeling mystified in some of the environments as well. Short and sweet, but powerful. I applaud the eerieness and sculpture of the world’s created, plus the added mysteries behind them. However, I will give a thumbs down to moving effects Of the walls because it conflicted with the movement of the character. It made me motion sick. Overall, nice and short game. Feed it...
This is no doubt one of my favourite games I've seen in a long time. I played it on a livestream and my viewers were just as awestruck by its diverse and unique environments and atmosphere as I was. I seriously can't overstate how much of an impression this game left on me, and I can't wait to play it again.
Thank you so much! That really means a lot!
I gave master everything and then some, I won't abandon him no matter the cost to my dwindling sanity as his servant. On an actual not without being a weird writer, rock boys made me very anxious and terrified me.
Not gonna lie, that temple with all the rock faces is a place I never want to go again. Loved this game.
love it!! Such a creepy aesthetic without jumpscares, Reccomended!
how do you get the key in the button room? I've tried just about everything I can think of but I can't find it
nevermind I found it it's on one of the arches
looks awesome, but im using Mac and download says no available program to open file
Have you tried downloading and running it through the Itch client? That seems to solve strange Mac issues.
This feels like what you would find if you pulled back the layers of reality. Probably the best horror game I've ever played.
Bizarre yet atmospherically intriguing
Finding all the keys took me a while. The story in the game is quite abstract and otherworldly. I did enjoy the little details like the creepy whisperer that travels behind me in one of the worlds. You game in the video is the third one starting around 11min mark.Short, sweet, bloody trek into an abstract dreamscape. Loved it.
I really really enjoyed this game! I'm not a big horror fan because usually the fright is caused by jumpscares or similar, but this is absolutely masterful environmental and atmospheric horror. Very well done, hated the room with the faces, really enjoyed how absolutely surreal it was.
watching my gf play this in short bits the other day, enraptured by the little blips i caught of this game and its atmsophere. stoked to play it myself because atmospheric horror... now that's food
It was such a good game that I find it hard to find many other horror games as great as this one! I'm truly happy to find this game, as I much more prefer to be scared via atmosphere rather than cheap jumpscares at every corner. Definitely a keeper, totally loved it.
Imaginatively gruesome, it's a short trip to abstract and eerie locations with the goal of feeding an amorphous mass of blood.
I found it pretty engrossing! Some of the sceneries are very evocative and every time you're going to look forward to what's going to be thrown at you next. Now, it's time to rest!
So I'm loving this game, but for some reason I can't find the key in the city world, which is weird because it's so small. I watched the partial walkthrough that Strattisfaction posted below, but where for them the first key simply showed up after hitting "kill" I can't get it no matter what. Is the secret that you have to be holding a heart to make it through?
Thanks for playing! The city key is a bit obtuse. Spoilers below:
You have to run into every spirit in the city. The last one will drop the key.
Awesome, thanks!
I never felt so absorbed by any other artwork; books, movies, games, paintings. I truly loved this, thank you so much for your hard work. It shines through boldly.
Thank you so much! I’m very happy to hear it resonated with you like that, it means a lot.
Yo so I just bought the game but I do not hear any audio when I start it up. All my other games work just fine. Is there anyway I can fix this? I would love to play this game.
Sorry to hear that, I haven't run into this issue before! Could you email your system specs to [email protected]?
SPOILERS!!!
I really enjoyed this game. The part where those faces kept popping up everywhere in that changing corridor really freaked me out. Overall I just really like the big gross blood monster. Played this multiple times.
This was a perfect game to play Halloween night!
I really loved it. The ambiguity worked in its favor quite a bit. I loved how it refrained from adding lore or text, and let these cursed worlds exist on their own, justify their own meaning. I even came to like the title of the game as super fitting: so, guess I'm collecting artifacts to power up a blood god. Okay with me!
I figured out the codes, but not what is supposed to go on the tombstone. Is it possible we are still missing a secret in this game?
What an experience! Great job with this game!
Took a look at the demo of this for a little Twitch series I'm starting up. Felt like exactly what was advertised: a bit creepy, a bit surreal, definite hints of more under the surface. It's not exactly my jam, but it was interesting and kept me curious. And you can see one person in chat was really down with it.
Really cool game so far! I have all the keys now im just trying to figure out how to get past the second set of rooms. All in all the game is really well put together. Could use some more story and scares though. Check out my channel Strattisfaction and walkthrough here!
Thanks for playing, and for making a video about it!
No problem! Thanks for making the game!
I've played a lot of video games in my life, and I think that most of us who have done so can recognize a good game when they see one. Things like level design, atmosphere, and sound can really help immerse you in a world that you want to explore.
Sanguine Sanctum shines in all of these catagories. This eerie exploration game had me hooked from the moment I started playing. The PS1-era graphics lend a great tone for the game, and the developer has created this space that is just so interesting to investigate. The "zones" are uniquely designed, and each one has its own special quality that makes exploring them so worth it. There are some hidden secrets that reward the player for really checking out every twist and turn. Without spoiling sections of the game, I will say that there are some fantastic level design elements that had me surprised and thrilled.
The sound design is on point, and there are lots of great "squelches" and "drip-drops" surrounding the player, making for an immersive and unique experience. The sound design really lends a lot to the atmosphere in a way that a lot of games miss the mark on today. Make sure to play this game with the sound turned up! It's really worth it!
I've played a few of the developer's previous games, but I feel that he has really created something special here. I have played through it a few times while in development and got to see this game grow into what it has become and I am just so impressed. The atmosphere of this game is creepy and unsettling, and made my skin crawl in such a good way. I loved seeing these scenes that he created, and there's even a nod to one of his earlier works in this game!
If you are a fan of the eerie and the odd, you are going to love this game. If you like to explore unique and unsettling areas, you are going to love this game. If you like video games in general, give this game a try and support indie developers! This developer knows how to create an immersive experience that draws you in and grabs your attention, and Sanguine Sanctum is a great example of that.
Yet another odd game by one of my favorite indie devs! This one was a little harder to understand what was going on than your other games, and I was unsure if I really made it to the end of the demo (also not unlike your other games lolol) but I had a blast playing it. It was definitely a trip and it sent my mind for a loop all the way through! I've seen screenshots of some of your WiP stages for this game and I'm super excited. This low-poly horror style of games is gold and I think you're nailing it. You have a crazy good artistic ability in creating an atmosphere and visuals in your games. I can't wait to see more! Thanks for making this!
Thank you so much! I've been seeing a lot of confusion from people playing the demo, even though there is supposed to be some I think I made it a little too obtuse. I thought about adding a run button, but for now I'm just increasing the base move speed. Thanks again for playing and for making these videos, I enjoy watching them!
Odd game, though I can't say it made someone like myself 'Uneasy' :P
Thanks for playing! Hopefully the full game will make you feel that way!
