ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The No. 2-ranked University of Michigan football team saw nine student-athletes named to the All-Big Ten Offensive team, the conference announced on Wednesday (Nov. 30). Running back Blake Corum was named the Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year and both he and guard Zak Zinter received first-team honors on both coaches' and media ballots. Center Olusegun Oluwatimi and guard Trevor Keegan were first-team choices on the coaches' ballot and second-team picks from the media.

The offense ranks top-25 in scoring offense, red zone offense (seventh), sacks allowed (18th), third-down conversion rate (18th), first downs (23rd), and total offense (24th). U-M leads the country in scoring differential (+326 points). The Wolverines have out-gained their opponents by almost 200 yards per contest (459.1 yards to 262.2 yards per game) and are tied for the national lead in fourth-quarter points per game (12.5).

Corum is U-M's first-ever recipient of the Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year award, first given in 2011. He has delivered a special season as Michigan's lead back, totaling 247 carries for 1,463 rushing yards (No. 8, NCAA), the most yards by a U-M back since Mike Hart's 2006 season (1,562 yards) despite seven games this year with no fourth-quarter touches. Corum posted an eight-game streak of games with 100-plus yards rushing and at least one rushing touchdown this year, all in Big Ten play. That was the longest streak of its kind at U-M in the last 25 seasons. During league play, he averaged 5.9 yards per carry with an average of 152.8 rushing yards per game before a two-carry day at Ohio State.

Corum was supported by the Wolverine offensive line, a collective semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award given to the best unit in the nation. Together, Wolverine honorees help construct the No. 5-ranked rushing offense in the nation and the top attack in the Big Ten (244.5 yards per game) averaging 5.97 yards per sack-adjusted carry. U-M rushers have totaled 35 touchdowns on the ground (T-No. 3, NCAA), led by Corum's 18 which is two shy of the single-season program record.

Oluwatimi, Zinter (12 starts) and Keegan (nine starts) each picked up first-team honors in recognition while tackles Ryan Hayes (second team, coaches; third team, media) and Karsen Barnhart (honorable mention, coaches and media) also earned league accolades. In the passing game, the line has given up only 13 sacks across 12 games (1.08 per game). Oluwatimi also is the program's sportsmanship honoree for the 2022 season.

U-M quarterback J.J. McCarthy was a second-team pick by the media and earned third-team honors on the coaches ballot. The Wolverines' 11-0 mark in McCarthy's starts represents the most consecutive wins to begin a starting quarterback's career in school history. McCarthy has led the Wolverines while completing 65.3 percent of his passes (177-of-271) with 17 passing touchdowns to two interceptions, plus another four scores rushing and 4.4 yards per carry. Drives led by McCarthy end in points 62 percent of the time, and the team has a 92.3 percent scoring rate in the red zone in his 11 starts.

The team's top two pass-catchers by volume, wide receiver Ronnie Bell (third team, coaches and media) and tight end Luke Schoonmaker (third team, coaches; honorable mention, media) were all-conference picks following career-best years. Bell leads the team in catches (51) with Schoonmaker second (31). Bell's 687 yards also are a team-high, and each player has caught two touchdowns, while Bell has run for another.
