A bus collided with a tree in Dagenham this morning, tearing off its roof and prompting a major emergency response. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 AM on Wednesday, 20 November, on Lullington Road. Police, fire crews, and paramedics rushed to the scene following reports of the collision, which left the top of the bus severely damaged. Witnesses described a chaotic scene as emergency responders attended to passengers and worked to secure the area. Casualties and Investigation It is currently unclear how many people were on board the bus at the time of the accident or the extent of any injuries. The London Ambulance Service has not yet provided an update on the condition of those involved. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "We were called to Lullington Road at approximately 10:30 AM to reports of a road traffic collision involving a bus. Emergency services are on the scene, and investigations are ongoing." Firefighters worked to ensure the site was safe, while police cordoned off the area to allow for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Witness Reports Local residents expressed shock at the incident. One witness said: "The noise was unbelievable. I couldn???t believe the roof had come completely off. Emergency services got here quickly, and they???ve been working to clear the area." Public Transport Disruption Transport for London (TfL) has confirmed that bus services in the area have been diverted while emergency crews remain on-site. Passengers are advised to check for updates and allow extra time for their journeys. Appeal for Information Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
