More than 24 hours after the polls had closed, Stormy Daniels was still avoiding social media and wondering if the 2024 US election results were actually a ‘bad dream’.
The 45-year-old adult film star had more skin in the game than most, after her highly-publicised legal battle with former President (now President Elect) Donald Trump, which rumbled on for six years. Daniels says she still hasn’t quite processed the fact that a man with 34 felony counts, one conviction, two impeachments and two pending cases against him is headed back to the White House for a second term.
Just months ago, the Republican candidate was found guilty of all counts of falsifying business records in a New York court, concerning a payment his ex-fixer made to ‘silence’ the actress over an alleged sexual encounter in 2006. Now he will become the most powerful man in the country, thanks to a resounding victory over Kamala Harris.
While we wait for further information on the sentencing, Daniels – who is hosting the third season of OUTflix’s For The Love of DILFs – shared her heartache over Trump’s re-election with Metro, saying she is devastated that everything she has been put through since she first came forward in 2018 has been in vain.
‘The worst part about all of this is that the voters let this happen, and that means that everything that I went through in the last six years was for nothing,’ she said.
‘Every moment that I missed with my daughter was for nothing, because you know that the sentencing is going to be a [slap on the wrist].’
Daniels’ name was beamed around the world when she first spoke of her alleged affair with The Apprentice host in 2018. Her claims were at the center of a hush money trial in May, in which Trump was accused of falsifying business records to cover up a payment of $130,000 to silence her.
The mom-of-one revealed salacious details about their time together when she testified, with the politician being found guilty on all counts. Trump could face anything from probation to up to four years in prison.
His return to the White House, despite being impeached twice during his initial term, was announced in the early hours of November 6 and sent shockwaves across the US and beyond, as many wondered where the country would go from here.
Daniels – who has kept the identity of her teenage daughter fiercely private amid the ongoing attention –said she still hasn’t been able to ‘fully process’ Trump’s win and that her immediate reaction was to sleep for 24 hours after the results came through.
‘I’d wake up and be like, “Yep, not ready to deal with this yet. Let’s go back to sleep”,’ she recalled.
‘I just kept thinking that I’d wake up and it would be a bad dream. Because I have the most reason to be scared out of anybody. I am number one on the hit list here. I’ve been shadowbanned, so I’m not even sure how many people are going to see this interview.
‘I’m on a comedy tour right now, those venues have been dropping off because the owners are getting harassed, threatened and stuff like that. I am directly being threatened [by Trump supporters].’
Daniels has been approached by concerned friends in the queer community, questioning whether they would be ‘persecuted’ over their sexuality, and if the Republican party’s plans for the future meant their marriages and lives would be at stake.
‘It just feels so heavy and so terrifying,’ she said.
‘I don’t know what’s going to happen, but all we hope for is… I hope it’s not as bad as we think that it might be.’
On the night of the election, Daniels appeared live on Channel 4 as part of their election night coverage, beside Emily Maitlis, Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Boris Johnson — who spent a large portion of the evening plugging his Unleashed book.
This didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, or by his fellow panelists, who became exasperated with the constant references fairly quickly. In fact, Daniels said she thought she was being ‘punked’ by TV bosses, assuming his remarks were part of a drinking game that she wasn’t privy to.
‘I was like, “No one says the title of something that much,”’ she laughed. ‘I mean, I’ve been talking to me for how long now, and I’m here specifically to talk about For The Love of DILFs season three… I still can’t possibly say the thing that I’m actually here to promote more than he said the title of his books.
‘I was like, “Am I being punked? This cannot be real.” I thought it was a drinking game. Thankfully, I didn’t bring a drink with me, because I would have been wasted. I was also expecting a bird to fly out of his hair.
‘I am very excited that he got to sit next to me, though, because I thought he hated me. But afterwards, he was like, “Oh, my God, I sat next to Stormy!” I was like, “I wasn’t even nice to you!” I told my publicist to send him an invoice for the dominatrix work.’
Despite more anguish coming her way, Daniels’s sense of humour has not abandoned her. Nor have her friends, including those she met in the For The Love of DILFs crew, who were some of the first to reach out and support her during a tough few days.
The OUTflix series follows the host introducing a new batch of ‘Daddies and Himbos to DILF Mansion’ as they look for love, taking part in ‘spicy challenges’ and enjoying wild dates as they compete to find ‘the one’, with the winning couple walking away with a huge cash prize and a partner.
The presenter also emphasized how important the third season is at highlighting conversations within the LGBTQ+ community, as the contestants took part in wide-ranging discussions about what the new administration could mean for their lives going forward.
Shedding light on what we can expect from the upcoming episodes, which premiere on OUTflix on November 26, Daniels said it’s ‘always different, it’s always fresh’, and teased some ‘amazing, crazy things happen’.
‘This time around, there’s a lot of changes, a lot of exciting things that happen. I can’t say too much, obviously, but we have a beloved guest return, a contestant returned from one of the first seasons – we’ve never done that before,’ she spilled.
‘The first two seasons we shot on the on the East Coast, in Florida, this time we went to the West Coast. So, we have different challenges, different scenery, just a different vibe.
‘I don’t know what we’re going to do moving forward, based on the election it might be “For The Love of DILFs Siberia”. It’ll be very cold, we’ll have to strategically cut out flaps for the good parts. I cannot make any more jokes about that that won’t get me censored…

‘We lure you in with this cheeky title that you think it’s going to be hot oiled-up gay dudes on spring break – some of it is – with your salacious, porn star host being inappropriate – which, of course, I am,’ she added.
‘But the message, the feelings, the interactions and the conversations, they’re all authentic, they’re real, they’re important and they matter. So yeah, you’re being catfished.’
‘We want you to think it’s a guilty pleasure, because it looks like it’s just a party all the time. But I think the message within is really important.’
For The Love of DILFs premieres on OUTflix on November 26.
